B.P. The BackPack

Born from my experience as a commuter student, this individual class project addressed a widespread campus challenge. My research revealed that students across campus struggled with the lack of study space. The B.P. (Backpack-Portable) Table converts from a backpack to a personal workspace, allowing students to utilize available seating without requiring additional floor space.

After extensive planning and research, I designed and built a lightweight prototype that transitions seamlessly between forms. The table legs nest within the frame and deploy alongside support straps, while an innovative corkscrew mechanism allows the arm straps to lock securely in both configurations. Testing demonstrated the design's strength, stability, and versatility across different surfaces, while maintaining practical portability.
